Free ITIL 4 books
Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) is a set of guidelines in the management of IT services (IT Service Management) and consists of a series of publications that provide guidance on the provision of quality IT services and on the processes and means necessary to support them from part of an organization. The first book in series is ITIL v4 PDF by Axelos. It therefore deals with providing guidelines to public and private entities with IT infrastructures, giving them directives to be able to make the most of IT services in the execution of their mission.
What we call ITIL v1, the first version, was developed in the UK under the auspices of the Central Computer and Telecommunications Agency (CCTA) and was titled "Government Information Technology Infrastructure Method" (GITM) and has expanded over the years to 31 volumes in a project initially directed by Peter Skinner and John Stewart at the CCTA. The publications were re-titled mainly at the wish of Roy Dibble of the CCTA as these were to be guidelines and not a formal method and also to respond to the strong growth of interest outside the British Public Administration.
